I made this temporary installation at the academy when I was a resident fellow there. When I discovered that additional gravel was about to be installed in the center court, I "borrowed" it to create this temporary site-specific work. The shape of each wave was formed by the volume of gravel contained in a local wheelbarrow, with each barrowful being cast out in an arc to form each wave.
