With this earthwork, Lin is continuing to explore the character of a simple line drawing, consciously exploring a line drawing that is also calligraphic in feel. Located in a private sculpture garden on Long island, where the site sloped continuously to the edge of the property and caused this area to be overlooked and hard to use, this earthwork was made by shifting the ground plane perpendicular to the slope creating a place to enjoy the boundaries of the site. By sculpting two flat areas of the land and accommodating the slope in the shifted line- the artwork takes advantage of the slope to create this artwork and create a place in order to inhabit.
